Dear Parent or Guardian,

Thank you for supporting your young athlete on Athfolio – the platform built to turn every training session, match, and personal best into a lasting sporting CV. We know how important it is for your child to showcase their talent safely, and we’ve designed our under-16 account system to put you firmly in control while giving them the freedom to build a professional sport portfolio.

How the under-16 account works

• Your child creates their Athfolio profile using their own email address plus your guardian email address.

• The verification code needed to activate the account is sent only to your email.

• Once set up, both you and your child can log in to the user account at any time using the password set up when the account was created and either your or your child’s email address.

• You have full visibility of everything: posts, photos, videos, messages with coaches, clubs, or universities, and all activity.

• This shared-access model means the account belongs to your child’s sporting journey, but you’re always in the loop – exactly as it should be.

Keeping it safe and positive
At Athfolio we believe every young athlete deserves a professional space to shine. That space works best when a trusted adult is actively involved. Here’s what we ask of you:

• Monitor regularly to review recent activity. You’ll see every post, every message, and every connection request in one clear dashboard.

• Guide appropriate use

• Encourage your child to post only genuine performance moments (training clips, match highlights, achievements).

• Help them understand what looks professional versus what’s better kept private.

• Remind them that coaches and other organisations such as universities and schools are watching – Athfolio is their sporting CV, not social media.

• Stay on top of messaging. All coach or club messages are visible to you. If anything feels off, you can step in immediately – or simply talk to your child about it.

• Think about setting platform rules together such as : no posting of photos without permission, no sharing location or personal contact details, all messages stay on Athfolio (never move to personal apps until you’ve checked)

We think your role is to protect their opportunity. A few minutes of your time each week helps keep their sporting CV professional, safe, and future-ready.

We’ve built these tools because we know parents are the ultimate coaches in a young athlete’s life. Your oversight doesn’t limit them – it gives them the confidence to reach higher, knowing they’re supported.
